Magic Chess 2024 Update: All You Need to Know

Magic Chess has risen to prominence as a popular in-game mode within Mobile Legends, and it has recently undergone an update for Season 16, denoted as version 426.1. Furthermore, the 2024 Magic Chess Season 16 introduces character adjustments, buffs, and nerfs.

In celebration of Magic Chess’s 4th anniversary, Moonton has launched the theme “Magic Crystal: Rune!” at the start of 2024. Notably, the Magic Crystal system takes the place of the Star-Core system from Magic Chess Season 15.

So, what additional updates can be found in Magic Chess Season 16, 2024? Let’s delve into the comprehensive review together!

Magic Chess S16 2024 Synergy Adjustments

In conjunction with various updates, Moonton has eliminated synergies from the previous version, including Ablaze Bounties, Wyrmslayer Warrior, Northern Vale, Shadow Rose, and Gunner.

Despite the removal of several synergies, the update introduces new synergies and adjusts existing ones in the Mobile Legends gaming system. Here is a rundown of the new synergies and modified ones in Magic Chess Season 16, 2024:

• Quartermaster (New): Allows the selection of various Quartermaster Equipment bonuses.
• Northern Adventurer (New): Enhances Gold earnings and boosts team Attack Speed based on the amount of Gold spent.
• Mecha Squad (New): Adjusts S.A.B.E.R synergy to Mecha Squad synergy. The Mecha Suit is generated at the battle’s onset, depending on the HP and Attack of the Mecha Squad Hero, causing Stun to opponents upon the suit’s elimination.
• Lancer (New): Elevates Lancer Attack Speed, with Basic Attacks inflicting Splash Damage.
• Marksman: Transforms Archer Synergy into Marksman Synergy.
• Nature Spirit: Alters Nature Spirit Synergy, now providing Physical and Magic Defense.
• Weapon Master: Synergy effect activates when 2/4/6 Heroes with the same synergy are placed.
• Assassin: Adjusts Swordsman Synergy to Assassin Synergy, offering a percentage increase in Physical Attack and Magic Power.
• Guardian: Attains a percentage increase in HP based on Max HP, with the synergy effect activating when 2/4/6 Heroes with the same synergy are placed.

Match and Equipment Adjustments Version 426.1

Moonton will tweak the fundamental attributes of all Heroes and introduce a new attribute, Magic Defense. Additionally, there will be a reduction in the chances of dice and crystals appearing during the Jungle phase. This aims to counterbalance situations with an abundance of overpowered Heroes and high-star Heroes in the Late Game.

Furthermore, Moonton will make adjustments to some Equipment attributes for the New Season, transitioning fixed bonuses for Attack and HP to percentage-based bonuses.

New Commander – Wanwan

Introduced as the new Commander in Magic Chess Season 16 since February 26, Hero Wanwan brings formidable Commander Skills expected to overpower opponents. Here are the details of Commander Wanwan’s skills:

• Skill 1 – Reinforcement: Wanwan attacks enemy Heroes if more than half of the teammate’s number is eliminated.
• Skill 2 – Tiger’s Ambush: Wanwan predicts the next opponent every few rounds, attacking a selected row on the opponent’s Chessboard alternately on each tile. This skill deals damage and increases damage.
• Skill 3 – Upper Hand: Wanwan predicts the next opponent every few rounds, attacking all opponents in a 3*3 area on the opponent’s Chessboard.

Commander Adjustments, Hero Nerfs, and Buffs: Magic Chess 2024 Update

Consistent with each new Magic Chess version, Moonton provides skill updates for characters. Some Heroes experience skill reductions or Nerfs, while others receive skill enhancements or Buffs.

Here’s a list of Heroes receiving Nerfs and Buffs in the latest Magic Chess update:

Asta

• Astral Blessing – Gold (Buff): Inheriting 25% Gold increased to 30% Gold.
• Astral blessing – Hero (Buff): Inheriting 1 increased to 2 Heroes.

Harper Receives Buff in Magic Chess S16, 2024:

• Warrior’s Will (Buff): Initially, Heroes receive 3 less damage than opponents, but it increases to 5 less damage from attacks.
• Victory Contract (Buff): Heroes receive blessings from the Goddess of Victory and gain 1 Shield for each victory (up to 5). Initially, each Shield provides 20%, increasing to 24% Damage Reduction and lasting until the Hero is attacked.
• Shield of Blessing (Buff): Hero protects itself with the Shield of Blessing, blocking all damage received in this round. Initially, Cooldown was 15 rounds, now reduced to 10 rounds. Each victory reduces the Cooldown by 1 round.

Layla

• Take a Shot! (Buff): Deals 550/1,100/1,700/2,000 increased to 600/1,200/1,900/2,200 Physical Damage.

Austus

• Power of Shadows (Buff): Gains 30-35 Gold increased to 35-38 Gold.
• Forest’s Blessing (Nerf): Gaining a 2-Star Hero for 5 Gold randomly when collecting 16 is now adjusted to 20 Shards or more.

Kaboom

• Go Kashoom! (Buff): Deals 500/700/1,000 Damage increased to 550/800/1,200 Damage.
• Go Katoom! (Adjustment): Slightly increases Katoom’s HP; provides 25%/25%/25% adjusted to 10%/10%/30% Area Damage.

Yuki

• Deadly Snipe (Buff): Deals 850 increased to 1,000 additional Damage.

Benny

• Freezing Trap (Buff): A Freezing Trap is placed in the middle of the player’s side during battle preparation. If the opponent’s Hero moves through it, it will cause Freeze for 15/20/25/30 now increased to 20/25/25/30 seconds based on the phase.

Mavis

• Gathering Strength (Buff): Starting from the Showdown Phase, each victory restores 7 increased to 8 HP.

Abe

• Anger (Buff): If winning the match, it gives an additional 4 Damage to the opponent’s Little Commander and gains 3 Shields. Now increased to 4 Shields.

Ragnar

• Heal (Buff): Heals 6 HP increased to 7 HP instantly, with a Cooldown of 3 rounds.

Angela

• Transfigure (Nerf): Cooldown 1 round increased to 2 rounds.

Vale

• Shifting Wind (Nerf): Cooldown 7 rounds increased to 8 rounds.
• Updraft (Nerf): Cooldown 5 rounds increased to 6 rounds.

Moonton has removed several Heroes in Magic Chess version 426.1, including Atlas, Freya, Franco, Hanabi, Rafaela, Valir, Guinevere, Kadita, Esmeralda, Cyclops, Faramis, Johnson, Roger, Claude, Kimmy, Bane, Clint, Aldous, Badang, Saber, and Ling.

• Grock (Weapon Master/Nature Spirit): 2-Gold Hero. Skill: Runs forward and causes Airborne to enemies in his path.
• Alucard (Weapon Master/Quartermaster): 5-Gold Hero. Skill: Jumps to the area with the most enemies, dealing Area Damage twice.
• Leomord (Weapon Master/Northern Adventurer): 4-Gold Hero. Skill: Deals Area Damage after a brief power accumulation.
• Martis (Weapon Master/Immortals): Adjusted Synergy to Immortals. Skill: Deals Physical Damage to a single target.
• Benedetta (Weapon Master/Mystic Bureau): 2-Gold Hero. Skill: Becomes Crowd Control immune for 1.5 seconds and deals Physical Damage to enemies.
