The 4.4 Genshin Impact banner update will be released alongside one of Genshin’s major events, Lantern Rite. This banner is set to be available starting from January 31, 2024.
Leaked Information about the Genshin Impact 4.4 Banner Update
There are many exciting things to discover in the 4.4 Genshin Impact banner update, including new characters, new weapons, and a new area that’s equally thrilling to explore. Let’s dive into the details!
New Characters in the 4.4 Genshin Banner
As with previous banner updates in Genshin Impact, there will be new characters and reruns that Travelers can collect in version 4.4. The first phase of the 4.4 Genshin banner update will begin on January 31st with Xianyun, the Cloud Retainer, as a new 5-star Anemo character.
It’s also predicted that a new 4-star character, known as Gaming and featuring the Pyro element from the Liyue region, will appear in the 4.4 Genshin Impact banner update as well, as hinted by the Lantern Rite artwork.
While Xianyun’s presence in the first phase of the 4.4 banner update is confirmed, there is still uncertainty about when Gaming will be released.
Regarding rerun characters, Nahida, a 5-star Dendro character, will be featured in the first phase of the banner. On the other hand, in the second phase of the 4.4 banner, set to release on February 21st, Xiao and Yae Miko, both 5-star characters, will make their appearance.
New Region in the 4.4 Genshin Impact Banner Update
As mentioned earlier, the version 4.4 banner update is special because it coincides with the Lunar New Year celebration. Therefore, HoYoverse will introduce a new region in the 4.4 Genshin Impact banner update called Chenyu Vale. It’s expected to be released at the end of January and is seen connecting Liyue with Fontaine through the Lumidouce Harbor.

Of course, there will be events and numerous missions in the version 4.4 Genshin banner update. One of them is the Lantern Rite festival, which is expected to take place in early February 2024.
