    What are Valorant Characters?

    all valorant agents

At their core, Valorant characters–officially called Agents–are elite members of the Valorant Protocol, a shadowy organization made to stop Earth from, well, imploding due to Radianite-fueled disasters.

But unlike most games, Riot didn’t just throw in edgy one-liners and call it a day. These Agents have got complex backstories, real connections (romantic or otherwise), and actual lives outside the battlefield.

    How Valorant Agents are Chosen

You can’t just walk into the Protocol off the street like you’re applying for a barista job. Nope. Every Agent has been thoroughly vetted, headhunted, and often comes with a past shrouded in mystery or glory. Let’s break it down:

    • Skye left behind an activist life in Australia to join a bigger cause.
    • Killjoy ran Kingdom Corp’s R&D at 18.
    • Sova was already a legend with a bow and a tracker’s instinct before signing on.
    • Even criminals like Breach got a second shot if they were good enough.

And the wild part is all joined willingly. Yep, nobody gets forced into the VP. Each of them chooses to give up their past life, though a few, like Sova visiting his grandma, still hold on to emotional ties.

    Valorant Agent Relationships

Originally, the Protocol said no dating, no drama. That rule is gone now, thanks to the slow-burn romance between Killjoy and Raze (dubbed Nanobomb, by the way).

But some Agents have tensions too, like Neon and Chamber, who had some shady run-ins pre-Protocol. Others share deep trust, mutual respect, or that sweet rivalry vibe.

Riot wants you to feel like these characters could be real people. And honestly, it works.
